Evening in Montreal June 8 2012
Walked out of Station Berrie Quam to find a lot of police around. Didn’t seem to be a huge amount of protesters around though. Coming from Toronto the police presence made me feel uneasy. Bough the police seemed fairly cool and approachable. (To be fair for the events I’ve been around the police had been fairly cool in Toronto lately).

Le Cheval Blanc was actually the brewery I was most enamoured with at the beer festival earlier in the day. So it was really cool to go to their Brew Pub to start my evening. Came away with tasters. I got to try four different beers two of which I enjoyed earlier. Double Bonheur 7% Cream IPA, delicious and creamy Tsunami 25 Double IPA 8% The one I dubbed a “delicious brick ” earlier. Strong flavours that come right at you. Jument 4.7% I think this was an American style wheat beer. While not my favourite style it was a well crafted beer Stout Imperial Rouse Islay 9% A gorgeous looking stout, made with scotch or perhaps in a scotch vessel. Toasted quality and something of a dark coffee finish. After La Cheval Blanc I walked out to Reservoir pub. I had a few friends who couldn’t make it out. We would all have loved to share a pint at Reservoir together.

After Reservoir I ended up wandering the city for awhile. Two or three street festivals were going on. I ended up getting rather lost but it was fun wandering such a beautiful city.
