Tis the Saison. Nice gathering for the release of Black Oak’s spectacular Summer Saison. The Saison was my favourite summer beer last year. Tested in the the hottest weather it was was wonderfully flavourful and refreshing. Other beer on hand was a marmalade cask made with bits of fruit added to a base of the Summer Saison.

 Hop Bomb a delicious hoppy casked ale.

Both the Black Oak Pale Ale and Nut Brown were on tap along with the Summer Saison. The Black Abbey cascade hopped and treated with Belgian yeast. This beer was a lovely black IPA.

Melt grilled cheese company provided delicious grilled cheese sandwiches with bacon , pickles and two different types of cheese.

Sonja North Black Oaks media lady, made a few changes around the brewery. Moving the swag around and signage was changed up making a nice change and another example of her great work at Black Oak the last few months.

The next Black Oak event is the May edition of the monthly game night. Beer and board games. The last few have gone really well and I expect this one to be just as great.
