Project X went in the road this month. Going down to Dominion on Queen in celebration of international women’s day and collecting $15 per entry with $5 going towards Women’s Habitat. I’m not clear if the women of Great Lakes Brewing had a hand in all the beers or only a few. At least one was a creation of the ladies of Great Lakes which was a great way to celebrate. The beer the stood out for me was Eve’s Spiced Apple Ale, it was very much like they managed to make apple pie into a beer. A fair candidate for making a French vanilla beer float. Of course sold a Apple ale a la mode. The pink Grapefruit IPA was pretty inspired but a bit to strong as fr s the grapefruit flavours. Seems like a fun beer to continue tinkering with as the spring and summer rolls on. I also tried the Casked Pumpkin Ale which tasted heavily of nutmeg. Which some of my drinking companions liked and some were not enthused about in the least. On top of all that the fine craft beer taps at the Dominion were busily in use and a good group of people made it a pretty fair night out and with any luck a nice contribution to Women’s habitat was earned as well.
